theVIM‐MY32clockontheVIM‐MY32Misbeingusedasthemainsystemclock,switchthisto“Master”.Ifthe
Yamahaconsoleinternalclockisbeing usedasthemasterclock,setthisswitchto“Slave”

InsertcardsintoappropriateYGDAIcardslots,aligningthesidesofthecardwiththewiththesupportguidesinthe
YGDAIslot
4.
Connectmaster/slavecardswithsuppliedNeutrikMiniConcable.Toeaseconnectionmakesuresmallsilvertriangle
ontheconnectorbodyis‘up’withrespecttothecardasshown.
5.
Connect(ifapplicable)suppliedfiberpass‐throughcable(VFC‐0001‐DST)betweenVIM‐MY32MT4andVIM‐MY32MST
cards.

PresstheVIM‐MY32cardfirmlyinplaceensuringacompleteconnectionbetweenthemultipinbackplaneoftheVIM‐
MY32cardandtheconsole

UsingYamahacontrolprotocolwiththeLightViperVIM‐MY32cards
OntheVIM‐MY32S(slave)card,thereareDB9andRJ45connectors.Theseconnectorsareusedtoinputcontrolfromyour
YamahaintotheLightVipersystemtoremotelycontroldigitalmicrophonepreamplifiers(i.e.YamahaAD8HR,Aphex1788A,
etc.).TheRJ45connectorisforusewithanyLightViperaccessorywhichusesTTLcontrol.The DB9connectormaybeusedwith
acrossoverDB9toDB9cable,utilizingthetranslationelectronicsontheVIM‐MY32carditself.Theswitchinbetweenthese
connectorsshouldbesettocorrespondwiththeconnectorbeingused(leftor“TTL” fortheRJ45,rightor“HA”for
theDB9
connector.InthecaseoftheYamahaLS9,thisconsolehasnoexternalcontrolconnector.Controlisfedinternallytotheback
planeoftheVIM‐MY32carditself.IfyouareusingVIM‐MY32cardswithaYamahaLS9,theswitchshouldbesettothemiddle
“internal”position.AccessoryLightViperproductssuchasDGL‐422(Yamahacontrolprotocol),MD3(RS‐422,MIDI,RS232
control)andDMX4(DMXlightingcontrolplusYamahacontrol)canbeconnectedtotheTTLcontrolconnector.
TheYamahaconsolewillnotdisplay“VIM‐MY32”ontheconsolescreen.TheYamahaconsolewillrecognize
theVIM‐MY32card
asageneric16‐channelexpansioncard.Thenameshowninthetextfieldwillbedisplayedasagenericname(i.e.“ADAT16”).
Whatisdisplayedmayvarywiththemodeland/orsoftwareversionbeingrunontheYamahaconsole.SomeYamahamixers
maynotbe
compatiblewiththeLightViperVIM‐MY32cards.Softwareandfirmwareupdatestotheconsolemayberequired.
